Almost all the people in the world think that television is one of the common communication receivers in education, businesses and homes. This media is modifying itself day after day by technology. 24% of viewer is enjoying television show three to four hours in a day (http://www.krstarica.com/eng/poll/index.php?anketa=180). Most of them watch various type of programs such as; drama, reality show, soap opera, game show, sort film, Documentaries, Religious, News. There are a lot of debates about the proper utilization of its program, but most of people agree with this media’s great influence on everyday life for the children, student and in the researchable area. Some show follows from reality such as; some drama, short film, news, documentation, Children’s program, and on the other hand few have a lot of imagination for example, some light entertainment show. In here also need to mention that sometimes many true facts has been ignored by some power of politics and money. For this reason, recently some of TV viewers think that, “Television is in no way a true mirror of society”, but writer R Silverstone did not agree with that comment. He thinks television is one kind of central dimension in an everyday life (http://scholar.google.co.uk/scholar?hl=en&lr=&cites=18390794476653190146). Later when this essay will study about the main theme of most popular cartoon “MEENA” then it may be possible the people will also agree with R Silverstone. However, this essay will examine two opposing viewpoints; one hand is that, society has been gotten positive influence by Television shows on the other hand why some people have been not agreed with that.

c) Few of light entertainment programs which have no involvement with the reality.
d) Direct Barrier to give open discussion
e) Few shows have some unreal violence, sexuality and bad language.

Main point in the 2nd paragraph:-

b) The viewers increase their knowledge by enjoy various type of show.
c) After watch Television, Some people make their behaviour changes.
d) Some programs directly give an idea about the relationship between the culture and people, for example the cartoon, “MEENA”.
e) Positive effect to create more conscious in the country’s people.
f) Real news and real world.
Conclusion:

Research Information

About Media
At the current moment the media is going to very upgrade than before. Now every people can get any type of news easily from hardcopy such as; Newspaper, Magazine etc. and also by softcopy from online for example, various type of website like www.google.com, www.newspaper.co.uk etc.
Now we need to identify which one more popular to the people and why they want to choose that.
the Internet is largely the new place where to go and look for political news. 49% of 18-29 year olds and 37% of 30-49 year olds turned to the Internet compared to 29% of 50-64 year olds and 12% of the over 65.
For newspapers we see the exact opposite trend: only 17% of 18-29 year olds and 23% of 30-49 year olds looked for campaign news in newspapers (both percentages below the general population average), compared to 34% of 50-64 year olds and 45% of over 65.
So, this result gave us the information that most of the people who use more Internet for got the news than the newspaper. Now we need to identify why they chose Internet than newspaper.
In here I talk with some of our university's student, Almost 80% of the students said to me Internet is more easier and up to date than newspaper and some of students also said that Internet is one kind of source about information where has unlimited knowledge.
On the other hand few student agree with newspaper, their view was that any people can choose easily the hot news by newspaper which are face quite problem to select from Internet.

Summary about London Eye (My Visit)

A flight on British Airways’ London Eye is definitely a “must-do” when visiting London. The Eye, which is open seven days a week, is the sixth tallest structure in London and offers unparalleled views of the city – in fact passengers can see up to 25 miles in each direction with views over some of the world’s most celebrated places of interest including St. Paul’s Cathedral, the Houses of Parliament and apparently.

Since it’s my first flight in October 2008. I took my first flight on a Saturday evening in October 2008. I don’t quite know what I was expecting but the whole experience was fantastic. When I arrived at the South Bank it was twilight and the sun going down behind the houses of Parliament and Big Ben was mesmerising and the speed with which it seemed to go from twilight to the more consuming early evening darkness was astonishing.

Because I had pre-booked out tickets online I had to do was collect that from the automated ticket machine inside the main hall and then wait in line to board the capsule. The line was thick and I thought I was in for a long wait. I was wrong. The line moved constantly for the Eye doesn’t actually stop while people alight and depart, it keeps moving, which I found a little disconcerting at first look. Guides separate guests into groups, and this ensures that the capsules are never over-loaded and those who need assistance are adequately looked after.
I saw just how the River Thames snakes its way through the Capital. It was amazing to see the bends and turns and know that all along its banks are the sights and places that make London so unique.

The only hint of nervousness I experienced was when I reached the uppermost point on the flight, and I realised that if I was to get stuck up there the only way down was via a very narrow and seemingly unremarkable ladder attached to the frame of the Eye. Perhaps not the best of thoughts to be entertaining as that stage, especially as the wind was quite ferocious. That’s another thing, I was expecting the capsule to be buffeted by the wind but the ride was smooth and consistent, with nary a shudder or jolt.

Although 30 minutes seemed a long time to be up in the air while still on the ground, time in the air seemed to speed by and before we knew it a recorded voice announced we were nearing the end of our journey.

Group Discussion (With Friend)
Importance of the English Language

I and two of my friends Joanson, Anjana met together in ours university canteen and discussed about the Importance of the English Language. After ours discussion I find many informantion about this topics which are very important to develop ours knowledge.

A language is a systematic means of communication by the use of sounds or conventional symbols. It is the code we all use to express ourselves and communicate to others. It is a communication by word of mouth. It is the mental faculty or power of vocal communication. It is a system for communicating ideas and feelings using sounds, gestures, signs or marks. Any means of communicating ideas, specifically, human speech, the expression of ideas by the voice and sounds articulated by the organs of the throat and mouth is a language. This is a system for communication. A language is the group of people.

The latest and the most advanced discoveries and inventions in science and technology are being made in the universities located in the United States of America where English language is the means of scientific discourse.

The historical circumstances of India (having been ruled by the British for over two centuries) have given the Indians an easy access to mastering English language, and innumerable opportunities for advancement in the field of science and technology. Many Indians have become so skilled in English language and have won many international awards for creative and comparative literatures during the last few years. Sometime ago, an Indian author, Arundhati Roy, won the prestigious booker prize for her book “The God of Small Things”. Her book sold lakhs of copies all over the globe.

English language is one tool to establish our viewpoint. We can learn from others experience. We can check the theories of foreigners against our experience. We can reject the untenable and accept the tenable. We can also propagate our theories among the international audience and readers.

Generally, Standard English today does not depend on accent but rather on shared educational experience, mainly of the printed language. Present-day English is an immensely varied language, having absorbed material from many other tongues. It is spoken by more than 300 million native speakers, and between 400 and 800 million foreign users. It is the official language of air transport and shipping; the leading language of science, technology, computers, and commerce; and a major medium of education, publishing, and international negotiation. For this reason, scholars frequently refer to its latest phase as World English.

Team Work and Building

I saw the video clips of team building and found some problems, for example a team leader he always must needs to conscious on his duty but in here I found something absent in his role. On the other hand sometimes team leader was trying to control his team very strictly which is not expectable for a team work. Every team member should respect to the leader. All the member of the team should be friendly with each other and work together with fun, but everything within a limit. One more thing is that good understanding to each other is also very important for team work. There is no competition between one to another member in a team. It is only to work together for achieve the target.

I also found that the team leader worked hard, supervise the team members carefully and friendly which is very positive for the team and success.

Summary of Current Global Financial Crisis
24 oct

At the present time the world is facing a big financial crisis. It has affected the total global economy. Former Federal Reserve chairman Alan Greenspan has stated that the recent global financial crisis is 'like a tsunami'. Actually he is right because recently only for that reason there are few top establish bank and financial investment company already collapse in USA, UK and other country in the world.

This crisis has affected all business. US Airways and Air France-KLM have both reported that there share losses due to the current economic slowdown. US Airways has lost $865m (£537m) and shares fell over 14%. Meanwhile, European airline Air France-KLM's shares fell over 11% and this is the lowest level in over last three years.

Banks has biggest affected victim of this crisis. According Mervyn King, governor; Bank of England, the UK banking sector had been close to collapse. All the UK bank like RBS, Lloyds TSB, Halifax etc. are in a big trouble because of this financial crisis. I am not also expecting that the banks will turn around very quickly.

Small firm’s might be destroyed by this financial crises. Many firms have said that they are in a very bad condition for this crisis. On the other hand the BBA chief executive Angela Knight said that the UK banking industry has always been and remains a strong supporter of small businesses. May be the banks want to help where they can, but banks are also facing difficult conditions of their own. So, how they can help them, it is a big question. However, banks are working very hard and actively in this crisis period for the UK economy.

Home Work

Paragraph
21 oct
I choose the three roles these are Plant, Shaper and Implementer. I believe that I have able to maintain each part of these roles. I had an experience as a team leader that is why I have little clear idea about the key roles of plant, shaper and implementer. Also I know how to use it properly and maintain successfully. I think for any research, at first the leader needs to have a clear idea about the topics, then point out the problems and find out that how it will be solved. Every research will be successful if it is fully guided by a dynamic team leader who enjoys working under pressure and want to take a challenge. He or she should be able to motivate the team to achieve the goal and also be able to work-hard with sincerity. Everything has some strength and weaknesses similarly to the roles of the Belbin Model and a also might be have some weakness. In my point of view in the role of plant I think to communicate the ideas to others sometimes create the difficulty. A leader can manage this problem if he or she has a good communication with the other members of the team.

Vocabulary Builder: The Academic Word List

Part of the Academic Wosd List:

Adapt, Communication, Culture*3, transition, transition, encounter, encountered, encountered, environment, evaluation, individual, initiates, methods, occur, ongoing, process, psychological.
Culture shock has many stages. Each stage can be ongoing or appear only at certain times. The first stage is the incubation stage. In this first stage, the new arrival may feel euphoric and be pleased by all of the new things encountered. This time is called the "honeymoon" stage, as everything encountered is new and exciting.
Afterwards, the second stage presents itself. A person may encounter some difficult times and crises in daily life. For example, communication difficulties may occur such as not being understood. In this stage, there may be feelings of discontent, impatience, anger, sadness, and feeling incompetence. This happens when a person is trying to adapt to a new culture that is very different from the culture of origin. Transition between the old methods and those of the new country is a difficult process and takes time to complete. During the transition, there can be strong feelings of dissatisfaction.

The third stage is characterized by gaining some understanding of the new culture. A new feeling of pleasure and sense of humor may be experienced. One may start to feel a certain psychological balance. The new arrival may not feel as lost and starts to have a feeling of direction. The individual is more familiar with the environment and wants to belong. This initiates an evaluation of the old ways versus those of the new.
The Academic Word List:
Accompanied, Acquired, Consequence, Contribute, Previous, Culture*4, Process, Cultures, Define, Duration, Establish, Factors, Goals, Integration, Integration, Integration, Mental, Reacting, Occurs, Individuals.

In the fourth stage, the person realizes that the new culture has good and bad things to offer. This stage can be one of double integration or triple integration depending on the number of cultures that the person has to process. This integration is accompanied by a more solid feeling of belonging. The person starts to define him/herself and establish goals for living.

The fifth stage is the stage that is called the "re-entry shock." This occurs when a return to the country of origin is made. One may find that things are no longer the same. For example, some of the newly acquired customs are not in use in the old culture.

These stages are present at different times and each person has their own way of reacting in the stages of culture shock. As a consequence, some stages will be longer and more difficult than others. Many factors contribute to the duration and effects of culture shock. For example, the individual's state of mental health, type of personality, previous experiences, socio-economic conditions, familiarity with the language, family and/or social support systems, and level of education.
